Nature Discovery 1 - Science (Sc)

This workshop is designed to fulfill the requirements of Key Stage 1 Science of the National Curriculum. The workshop gives children the opportunity to learn and develop their knowledge in the natural world including trees, minibeasts, birds and mammals. Nature Discovery 1 gives children a basic knowledge into the working processes behind all living things and why it's important.

Participants will experience fun creative hands on activities which in turn will inspire and provoke thought into this subject.

The workshop includes sensory activities, environmental games, minibeast hunt, scavenger hunt, arts and crafts and a story at the end.

Nature Discovery 2 - Art and Design

This workshop is designed to fulfill the requirements of Key Stage 1 Art and Design of the National Curriculum. The workshop gives children the opportunity to learn about natural occurrences in nature including patterns, colours, and textures.

Nature Discovery 2 brings the beauty of nature alive through art and design, inspiring children to be creative with the range of activities they will participate in.

Participants will experience fun creative hands on activities which will create desire to continue exploring this area of art.

The workshop includes arty sensory activities, making string, designs on wooden discs, making big shapes, food chain forest art, environmental games, and creating beautiful silk paintings.

Nature Discovery 3 - PSHE and Citizenship/Music/PE

(Teambuilding with Bushcraft)

This workshop is designed to fulfill mainly PSHE, but also covers some areas of Music and PE as well. The workshop gives children the opportunity to develop there own personal skills, confidence, and relationships with others.

Nature Discovery 3 enables children to learn about themselves as an individual and how they contribute in a team.

Participants will experience fun activities working on their own, in a small group or large group. This gives teachers and group leaders the opportunity to stand back and see the skills of individual pupils, how they interact and learn.

This workshop includes individual and team activities and games. Participants will take part in mini orienteering, shelter building, environmental games and sit down quiet time - speaking and listening.

Nature Discovery 4 - PSHE and Citizenship/Music/PE

(Relax Kids - 1 hour sessions only)

This workshop is designed to cover areas in PE, Music and PSHE. The workshops which are designed by Marneta Viegas director of Relax Kids give children the opportunity to relax and be completely calm in their mind and body.

Nature Discovery 4 enables children to learn about themselves, develop positive thoughts and feelings, and potentially be able to deal with negative situations. It promotes a healthy imagination and creativity.

Participants will experience fun activities that create a lovely, happy atmosphere from sitting down being very still to being very lively and energetic.

This workshop includes, dance, stretching (basic yoga), meditation, massage, affirmations, visualizations and fun happy games.

Nature Discovery 5 - Cross Curricular (Under development for 2007)

(Santa's Workshop)

This workshop is designed to cover many areas of the National Curriculum at Key Stage 1. During the two hour workshop pupils will speak to Santa and receive a gift (EnchantedForest mini Christmas tree, badge - other items to be decided), play parachute games, make a Christmas and nature craft, and if weather permits go on a scavenger hunt outside.
